Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Prevention and Response

Our SGBV Prevention and Response program provides comprehensive support to survivors while mobilizing communities to address the root causes of gender-based violence. Through community education, survivor support, and local partnerships, we create safer environments and promote respectful relationships.

1. Strategic Approach:

- Community Awareness and Education:

In line with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), our workshops educate communities on SGBV and its impact, emphasizing prevention and intervention. This aligns with the African Union’s commitment to human rights in Agenda 2063.

- Safe Spaces and Survivor Support:

Partnering with healthcare providers and legal advisors, we provide safe spaces and support services to SGBV survivors, ensuring they have access to counseling, legal guidance, and reintegration resources.

- Policy Advocacy for Legal Protection:

We advocate for legal reforms that strengthen protections for survivors and ensure accountability for perpetrators, aligning with Cameroon’s Emergence 2035 goals to support gender equality and strong institutions.

2. Impact Highlights:

Over 100 girls mentored through our leadership development program, resulting in increased school retention rates and academic engagement.
Collaborated with schools in the centre regions, university of Buea and University of Yaounde II, providing educational materials and support to reduce dropout rates by ..% among vulnerable groups.
Tech Café Initiative: Introduced over 30 girls to STEM, with participants reporting increased confidence and digital literacy, leading some to pursue careers in tech.
